A tear forms in your eye,
And then another, and more
Until your eyelid is full and
They fall out and run down
Your cheek in single file
Spilling off your face and
Landing in your tepid tea.
A tear forms in your eye,
And then another, and more
Until your eyelid is full and
They fall out and run down
Your cheek in single file
Spilling off your face and
Landing in your tepid tea.
It’s good to ‘see’ you again. That ‘tepid tea’ surely is evocative — we’ve all had those long afternoons at the table, staring into space.
Thanks! I found an indie publisher willing to take on my manuscript of lake poetry, so have been off on that. Should come out this summer.
